AirNode Operators

Role overview

AirNode Operators manage AirNodes remotely.

This includes monitoring how their AirNodes are performing, updating settings, and solving problems without being on-site. AirNode Operators can see the status of their AirNodes in real time, monitoring their performance.

Requirements and qualifications

  • Financial Capability: You don't need any prior technical experience. However, you should have the financial capability to pay for the selected packages upfront.

  • Commitment to Maintenance: You must be willing to monitor and maintain your AirNodes.

Step-by-step guide to becoming an Operator

  • Register: Apply to become an AirNode operator on the World Mobile platform.

  • For Portal and Titan AirNodes:

    • Use the Explorer to find a Host who will deploy and manage the AirNode for you.

    • Discuss and agree on terms, then finalise your purchase.

    • Work with your Host to get your AirNode deployed. We will guide you through installation steps and in some cases, finding the right installer.

  • For Link AirNodes and Apex AirNodes:

    • These AirNodes are already deployed, so you don’t have to find a host. This makes it even easier to get started as an Operator.

    • Simply select your AirNode on the Operator page, or choose an available hex on the map.

    • Link and Apex AirNodes are already deployed and are therefore activated once the purchase process is completed.

  • Access Dashboard: Set up your remote management account.

  • Start Operating: Begin monitoring, managing, and maintaining the AirNode through the online dashboard for real-time insights and troubleshooting.
