Self-troubleshooting token upgrade issues

While the token migration is straightforward, you might still run into a few issues. Before you look at the troubleshooting guide, please read the instructions on what you need beforehand, in the token migration guide, here.

Preparing for the migration.

I have my WMT on a wallet that is not Eternl, what should I do?

The only supported Cardano wallet is the browser extension version of the Eternl wallet. If you are using a different Cardano wallet, you can restore your existing wallets using your seed words.

Follow the steps to do that:

1) Download the browser extensions of the Eternl wallet to the browser. Eternl [click here for the chrome version] - suitable for multi and single-address wallets;

2) Navigate to the extension installed in your browser and use the option to restore an existing wallet;

3) Locate the seed words of your original wallet and use them to restore it.

4) If you are using Eternl, make sure to turn on dAPPS before proceeding to connect your wallet.

I have my WMT on a wallet that is not Eternl but I do not have my seed words to restore my Cardano wallet, what can I do?

If you cannot restore your existing wallet on Eternl then you must send your WMT to a new wallet that you have created on the browser extension version of Eternl to perform the upgrade. Please note: you must keep your seed words safe, if you lose these then you potentially lose access to your funds.

Why can't I connect my browser wallets to the portal?

The portal only works with the browser-based wallet extension versions. This means you cannot connect web-based wallets to the portal. You must download the browser extension version of your crypto wallet.

I added both the origin and destination wallet, but I cannot press the button to upgrade my WMT.

There are two possible solutions: 1) Make sure you have enough ADA in your origin wallet to cover the gas fees; 2) Make sure both wallets are connected, and that the destination chain is added to your Metamask wallet.

Migrating your tokens.

Why do I get a “not enough ADA” or "insufficient collateral" error message even though I have enough ADA to perform the migration?

Please make sure you have enough ADA in your wallet to cover the transaction fees. If you have ADA in your wallet in multiple UTXOs this message might appear so you must consolidate your funds. You can do this by clicking on the “Perform consolidation transaction” button, which will consolidate your funds for you. Once you hit the button, a pop-up window will appear which will prompt you to sign the transaction. This should allow you to successfully upgrade your tokens. Otherwise, you must consolidate your funds manually in the Eternl wallet. Go to Send > Option > UTxO Collections. Then you can try again.

Alternatively, you must add enough ADA to be able to perform the migration.

My wallet disconnected after I signed the transactions, what should I do?

If you had already signed the transaction, then even if one of your wallets gets disconnected, the tokens will be migrated.

When the transaction is finished, reconnect your wallet and use the button “Previous transactions” to see the completed transaction.

The transaction failed after the tokens left my wallet, what should I do?

Please follow the instructions in the error message and contact the support team. Make sure that the origin and destination wallet addresses are included in your message to support.

Why can't I see my previous upgrades?

All past upgrades that you might have completed are connected to the wallet(s) you used for the upgrade. This means you must connect those exact wallets to see your previous upgrades.
