Token Migration Guide
This guide will take you through the process of migrating your WMT to WMTx.
Preparing for the upgrade
Which wallets are supported?
Eternl, MetaMask and Coinbase Wallet are the only supported wallets.
Helpful Tip! If your WMT is stored in another Cardano wallet, there’s no need to create a new wallet in Eternl. You can import your existing wallet using your mnemonic phrase (seed words). Warning: A World Mobile employee will never contact you first or ask for your seed words. Do not share your wallet’s seed words with anyone!
What do I need before I start?
Before you begin, please ensure you have the following:
Access to your Cardano wallet on the browser extension version of Eternl. You must select the wallet with your WMT (and have DApps turned on if using the Eternl wallet). If you are using another Cardano wallet you must import that wallet into Eternl.
If you are migrating from Cardano to Ethereum, BNB or Base you will need access to your MetaMask or Coinbase browser wallet, this is where your WMTx will be sent to. Make sure to install your wallets on the same browser you are using to access the portal. Important: Ensure your wallets are installed as extensions on the same browser you are using for the token migration. It is crucial to store your wallet seed words in a safe place so that you can recover your wallet if needed in the future.
Enough ADA in your Cardano wallet to cover fees. Before you initiate the transaction, you will see the approximate ADA fee. You can always make multiple migrations, provided you have enough ADA to cover gas fees. The minimum amount of WMT you can migrate is 5 WMT.
Warning: If you do not have enough ADA in your Cardano wallet to cover the gas fees you will not be able to perform the migration.
Make sure you are using a compatible desktop browser and that your browser has pop-ups enabled. If using Chrome, you can verify it is turned on in the browser settings. Compatible browsers are Chrome, Edge, Brave and Opera. Warning: You will not be able to migrate your tokens on a mobile device.
Performing the token migration
What are the steps to perform the token migration?
Cardano WMT – to – Cardano WMTx
Connect your Eternl wallet. When connecting your wallet to the portal for the first time, a pop-up window will appear prompting you to give access for your wallet to interact with the portal. Pro tip: Having trouble connecting your Eternl wallet? Make sure dAPPs are turned on.
If the “Prepare wallet” button is visible, click on the button and sign the transaction to consolidate your UTXOs, this will allow you to upgrade all the WMT in your wallet without issues. You must have at least 12 ADA in your wallet for this step. If you do not see this button, then you do not need to do anything and can proceed to the next step.
Click on “Select Network” and select the Cardano Network.
Enter the amount of WMT you wish to upgrade. You can make multiple upgrades, provided you have enough ADA to cover gas fees.
Click on “Start upgrade of WMT to Cardano", after confirming the details in the pop-up, click on “Confirm upgrade of WMT to WMTx (Cardano)”.
Sign the transaction and wait to receive your WMTx. You will see that your token upgrade has been confirmed.
Cardano WMT – to – Ethereum WMTx
Connect your Eternl wallet. When connecting your wallet to the portal for the first time, a pop-up window will appear prompting you to grant access for your wallet to interact with the portal. Pro tip: Having trouble connecting your Eternl wallet? Make sure dAPPs are turned on.
Click on “Select Network” and select the Ethereum network.
Connect your MetaMask or Coinbase wallet.
Enter the amount of WMT you wish to migrate.
Click on “Confirm upgrade of WMT to WMTx (Ethereum)”. After confirming the details in the pop-up, click on “Confirm upgrade of WMT to WMTx (Ethereum)” to proceed.
Sign the transaction in both your Ethereum and Cardano wallet. You can track the progress of the migration in the portal. A confirmation will appear once the migration is complete. Please note: If you are using the MetaMask wallet and do not immediately see your WMTx, go to “Import tokens” at the bottom and input the token contract address in the “Custom token” tab. The token contract address for WMTx on Ethereum is: 0xDBB5Cf12408a3Ac17d668037Ce289f9eA75439D7
Cardano WMT – to – Binance WMTx
Connect your Eternl wallet. When connecting your wallet to the portal for the first time, a pop-up window will appear prompting you to grant access for your wallet to interact with the portal. Pro tip: Having trouble connecting your Eternl wallet? Make sure dAPPs are turned on.
Click on “Select Network” and select the Binance network.
Connect your MetaMask or Coinbase wallet.
Enter the amount of WMT you wish to migrate.
Click on “Confirm upgrade of WMT to WMTx (Binance)”. After confirming the details in the pop-up, click on “Confirm upgrade of WMT to WMTx (Binance)” to proceed.
Sign the transaction in both your BNB and Cardano wallet. You can track the progress of the migrate in the portal. A confirmation will appear once the migrate is complete. Please note: If you are using the MetaMask wallet and do not immediately see your WMTx, go to “Import tokens” at the bottom and input the token contract address in the “Custom token” tab. Cardano WMT – to – Base WMTx
Connect your Eternl wallet. When connecting your wallet to the portal for the first time, a pop-up window will appear prompting you to grant access for your wallet to interact with the portal. Pro tip: Having trouble connecting your Eternl wallet? Make sure dAPPs are turned on.
Click on “Select Network” and select the Base network.
Connect your MetaMask or Coinbase wallet.
Enter the amount of WMT you wish to migrate.
Click on “Confirm upgrade of WMT to WMTx (Base)”. After confirming the details in the pop-up, click on “Confirm upgrade of WMT to WMTx (Base)” to proceed.
Sign the transaction in both your Base and Cardano wallet. You can track the progress of the migrate in the portal. A confirmation will appear once the migrate is complete. Please note: If you are using the MetaMask wallet and do not immediately see your WMTx, go to “Import tokens” at the bottom and input the token contract address in the “Custom token” tab. The token contract address for WMTx on Base is: 0x3e31966d4f81C72D2a55310A6365A56A4393E98D
What happens after the migration is complete?
Once the token migration is complete, you will see the summary of the migration. This information is saved to the wallet you used for the migration and can be viewed at any time in the “Previous Upgrades” section of the portal. Please note: You need both wallets connected to view previous migrations if you made migrations to other chains apart from Cardano.
Your tokens are sent to you immediately after the migration is complete and may appear as an incoming transaction in your destination wallet.
You will also be able to perform more migrations if needed.
